    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a present focused, short-term, goal oriented therapy that utilizes a collaborative approach toward helping clients problem solve. Therapy focuses on enhancing clients’ abilities to examine old patterns of thinking and reacting, so that they can learn to modify their internal experiences and their environments in a beneficial way. This therapy also includes helping clients face situations or events that they tend to avoid or have a difficult time approaching. Through therapy, clients strengthen their emotion regulation and coping skills, so that they can move in the direction of their life values and goals.

    CBT can help with:

    • Depression
    • Anxiety
    • Panic attacks
    • Phobias
    • Obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD)
    • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
    • Persistent pain
    • Disordered eating
    • Sexual issues
    • Anger management issues

If any of the above issues resonate with you, I encourage you to try cognitive behavioral therapy.

With CBT, you will be able to adjust the thoughts and behaviors that directly influence your emotions. CBT sessions are structured to ensure that the therapist and the person in treatment are focused on particular goals in each session.
